Last year we lost our beloved Maine Coon cat of 13 years to
cancer. After mourning for quite sometime we decided
we’d like to bring not one but two furry friends into our
household. We did our research and decided that we’d
like a pair of Ragdoll kittens to fill our house with love.
We set upon the task of finding a breeder and discovered
Docile Dolls owned by Patrick and Betty Duke. We
arranged for a visit and were immediately taken by how
Patrick and Betty raise their kittens. They are truly
raised “under foot” with a great deal of interaction not
only with humans but with the other cats and kittens in
Patrick and Betty’s home. We’d visited other catteries
and found some to be run more like a business, where the
kittens were commodities to be bought and sold, versus Pat
and Betty’s approach of only having a few kittens so they
can be loved and nurtured into wonderful companions.
As a result we adopted our pair, Frank and Mona, and we have
never been happier. They are full of energy; very “laid
back,” love to engage with anyone who comes to visit.
Truly the love and nurturing Pat and Betty gave these
kittens shows in their wonderfully “docile” demeanor.
If
you are looking for a Ragdoll kitten or two and are seeking
a breeder who get’s it “right” then I cannot recommend too
strongly Patrick and Betty Duke at Docile Dolls.
Sincerely,
Jerry and Vicki Galindo

Hello Betty and Patrick,
First of all let me
start by telling you how lucky we were to have found the two
of you! When our family finally decided that a Ragdoll was
for us, our first concern was to find a breeder who was not
a typical "cattery". We wanted to find someone who would
take time with the kittens, someone who would play with and
really socialize the kittens. And you and Patrick did just
that. We were impressed with how clean and well cared
Cookie and Mona were and knew that the kittens would also be
well cared for. We were NOT disappointed. If we ever
decide to adopt another kitten Docile Dolls would be our
only choice. I would not hesitate in suggesting to anyone
thinking of adopting a Ragdoll to go to Docile Dolls.
Now about Abby. She
is exactly as you described on your home page. She is
loving, playful , inquisitive and very sweet. Kaitlyn and
Abby have become very good friends. Where ever Kaitlyn is
Abby is always close by. Abby is as you said "very puppy
like" she follows us around all the time but if we do mange
to slip out of the room without her seeing us she will meow
until she finds us. We have had her a short time but have
really fallen in love with her and can't imagine our home
without her. Thanks again for our little girl.
Sincerely,
The Parrys
P.S. Abby and the
boys (our shih-Tzu's) have also become great friends.
Boomer LOVES her and is always checking on her. Very sweet! |

Valentine

Dear Pat & Betty,
We wanted to write you a
note to thank you for
everything you have done to
bring our new “baby” into
our lives. We also wanted
to take this opportunity to
give testimonial to your
personal kindness,
professionalism and
responsibility as cattery
owners. We had been
actively looking for a new
kitten to adopt for about
six months before stumbling
upon your website announcing
new kittens. How thrilled
we were that you were
located right here in
Richmond, only minutes from
us! We really appreciate
how you opened you home
(once unannounced, and a few
times when you were ill!) to
us whenever we wanted to
come visit the kittens.
Because of that we were able
to watch (and take
pictures!!) our baby grow
from five weeks until we
took her home at 12 weeks.
Our little Virginia
Valentine is the life of our
home. She has completely
taken over. She is so much
the typical kitten, getting
into everything. She keeps
us laughing every day. But
at bedtime she exemplifies
the typical Ragdoll
characteristics by crawling
into bed, sitting on my
chest and cuddling under by
chin. She is so sweet.
Again, we so appreciate
getting to know you and
highly recommend your
cattery and beautiful
kittens to anyone seeking a
new family member.
Sincerely,
Lisa & Mimi

Pictured Below: Colby Jack

Well our beautiful and rotten kitty has been home for
almost a month so I figured it was time to give you and
update. He is perfect in every way. He loves his belly
rubbed and will hunt me down and flop next to me with
paws in the air wanting his belly stroked. He enjoys
being brushed and is growing like a weed. We put him on
Wellness Kitten and he is thriving. He is weighing 5lbs
2 oz at 14 weeks. He's going to be a big boy. He uses
the litter box and the cat post. I truly can not find
one thing to complain about with him. You two did a
wonderful job raising him for the first 11 weeks. He's
purrrrfect.
We named him Colby Jack it just came to us his first
week home. He knows his name and comes running if I
yell for him. He greets me at the top of the stairs
every morning and I have to sit down first thing and
give him a quick belly rub and hello. Then he follows
me down stairs and waits patiently while I refill his
kibble bowl. (that he empties thru out the night) He
eats his breakfast while I drink my morning coffee. He
is the perfect companion. I'm going to try and attach
a few pictures of my boy. You will notice the soft caps
we keep on his front claws. He doesn't mind a bit and
will sit patiently while I put them on.
Blessings,
Star, Allan and Colby Jack.

Pictured Below: Ladybug

Dear Betty,
My kitten is so sweet. When I walk into my room she is
right at the door and she wraps her little paws around
my leg. My cat snuggles up with me on my bed and when I
wake up she is looking at me. Then she licks my nose!
What I like best about her is that she is always waiting
for me and she is so soft and fluffy. It is my job to
feed her and check her water. I even have to clean the
litter box! She is good because she never makes a mess
anywhere. Sometimes she plays games with me with her
cat toys and chases them around the room!
Thank you for my beautiful little kitten. I love her
so much.
Love,
Amy and Ladybug

Pictured Below: Alice

If someone asked me to describe the kitten I was
looking for, my description would match Alice
exactly.
Upon meeting Alice, I could see she received much
attention and excellent care from Betty and Pat. She
has the confidence of a pet who trusts humans
completely and has been treated with great kindness.
She loves people and wants to be wherever the action
is. Alice immediately made herself at home and
quickly made friends with my senior cat and my
setters.
Alice is sweet, loving, curious, outgoing,
energetic, playful and intelligent. Her fur is as
soft as a bunny’s. Her beautiful blue eyes make a
lovely contrast with her dark seal face. She has a
thick cream-colored coat and a fabulous long tail.
I think she knows how pretty she is. She is a
princess.
Bringing Alice home in 2010 was the highlight of my
year.
Thanks, Rosemary Bennett

Pictured Below: Thumper

Hi Betty and Pat:
Hope this note finds you well.
We'd just like to say what
a wonderful pet Thumper is. He has adjusted to us
so beautifully(or is it that we have adjusted to him?).
We were so fortunate
to find you folks and can tell that he has been raised
with lots of love. He
has such a sweet disposition and we have spoiled him
rotten. He is so funny,
he will wear himself out playing as typical kittens do,
then come to us and
lay down and just flop over and go to sleep.
We lost our beloved ragdoll cat of 15 1/2 years over a
year ago and there
has been a void in our home until now. Thumper has
completely taken over. He
most definitely knows his name and comes running when
called. He gets on the
bathroom sink in the mornings and watches me get ready
for work and when I
go to do anything else, he is right underfoot. I can not
imagine not having
him in our lives.
Pat and Betty Duke definitely care about the quality of
life and the home
that each and every kitten enters into. The transition
has been so easy
because of these wonderful people.

Pictured Below: Henry

Thanks for checking on Henry. He's doing great.
Its easy to tell he was well cared for before he
came to our home. I attached a couple of pictures.
We decided his unofficial name is Henry Otter 'cause
he sometimes runs along the floor stretched out-
looks like a little otter. Loves to play. He's
happily sleeping in my lap right now.

Update Below on Henry

Yes, to say Henry is the type of cat I wanted is
an understatement. He is so sweet & loves to
sleep in my lap- sleeps so deeply I can pick him
up & "rearrange" his position so my legs don't
go to sleep. You may know that channel 12 has a
morning feature called "picture your pet"- well
Henry was featured this am- his Christmas
picture with the Santa hat. And yes, he has
huge feet- with long fur growing out between his
toes- walks around like a little snow leopard.
Thanks again,
Jim
